After attending Lansing Barber College and receiving his barbers license in 2016, barber and owner Chris Lapham moved back to Grand Rapids to open a shop in the city he's spent his whole life in, on a street where he spent a large chunk of his childhood. Avenue Barber Shop is an independent, family owned and operated, grassroots-as-it-gets barber shop in the heart of Downtown Grand Rapids on Division Avenue. They officially opened their door in September of 2017.

Avenue Barber Shop's paying homage to the barbershops of the 40's and 50's with their specialty in traditional cuts. They take pride in taking their time with each and every cut, shave, and trim so their clients never feel like just another number. Each cut is finished with a neck and around the ear clean up with a razor because even the littlest details matter to the barbers at Avenue.
